Wildflower

Different people thrive under different conditions. Sometimes we meet someone or spot someone who doesn't seem to belong where they are. Maybe they aren't being given a chance to truly live or maybe they are just waiting for things to improve before they can metamorphose into what they are meant to be. It can be hard to get caught in a state of transition and it can be easy to mistake a rut we are stuck in for a place we are trapped. Love is one of those things that, no matter what, seems like it is worth waiting for...
Wildflower
Rays of your beauty scatter like light
Cast through the atmosphere of my cloudy mind
We just keep running in these circles
Biting tongues and biding time
I find myself once more transfixed
By the way your petals sway
To this never ending melody
Though your roots still seem so fixed
Tell me wildflower why are you so alone?
Trapped here far from windows
Where you cannot hope to grow
And yet I hear you calling
Perhaps it is our hour
I hope my answer's clear
But I wait here in the tower
For your doubts to disappear
Is love a myth best left to fools?
I am alone, you are confused
I'd show my work, I've done the math
You're beautiful, but you know that
Is there nothing that my love can do dear?
I know it's an imperfect thing
To cheer you up and come full circle
To those words I've longed to hear?
If the stars above desert you
I will put them back in place
Set each gear of the heaven's turning
Just for a smile on that face
I've seen your beauty here before
Traveling like a comet across the cosmic sea
And yet I know it's not my place yet
And so I pray here silently
Tell me wildflower
Will you dance with me at last?
Bring this wallflower from the shadows
See if this is worth the chance?
Perhaps it is our hour
My answer's always yes
To your perfect melody
Let this bring harmony at last
