(Smooth) Transitions

Some transitions in life aren't easy but some are timeless. We are transient beings but we are surrounded by deep natural beauty. In many ways humanity is a reflection of Earth's natural beauty and the complexity and perfection of the Cosmos itself. Without all of these systems working in unison none of what keeps us going would be, it's all connected.

Transitions

You are an ageless monument

Monolith to mono-myth

Steppe steeped in ancient beauty

Stones rise to meet the stars

The songs of our ancestors

Caught in the warm air of a fire

The reverie of embers rising

The memory of what once was

I rush along the slick shore stones

To be with you at sunrise

To let the tide rush over me

Eroding away rough edges

I find the breeze addicting

The soft caress and warm remembrance

The texture of a kiss

Lost in forever's instance

The height of these dizzying moments

The sky swallows me

The humming of the bugs and birds

Dissolving my ego

I am disappeared

Lost in smooth transitions

In the throbbing rivers overrunning their banks

The cups that runneth o'er

Caught in this twilight of never was to be

Hearing your voice call out

Between the branches and the leaves

Wondering if it remembers

A thousand faces but just one form

A song frozen here within my mind

New stars in cosmic dust are born

Novel constellations formed

A hush that falls over that valley

Proud mountains made to swoon

Weak at the knees and all but quaking

Subduction turning us to fools

Through sorrow and through loss

Through Summer's heat and Winter's frost

The beauty of the Earth endures

To sing this song forevermore

Through synchronicity my dear

We find ourselves beneath the moon

Neurons flashing like fireflies

Forming new patterns in our minds

New memories to lose ourselves

Within the texture of each kiss

A hush falls over the valley

Lost in smooth transitions
