Miles from May (Full Circle)

Life moves in cycles, cycles of change and cycles that stay the same. Things fall apart, things come back together, and the dissolution of the old forms into the new. In the end all we can hope to do is control ourselves as the tide moves us and the seasons change. Even under unfamiliar stars, unsure where to navigate, there is hope that things will all come together in the end.
Miles from May
The autumn sun is near
A heavy haze still yearning
An evening made of pages turned
Heat mirage still burning
Out in your eyes there is an ocean
A long lost light along the coast
Guidance for ships still caught at sea
In storms forever churning
In these absentminded moments
I wander down the shoreline
Peering up at constellations peculiar
Ancient fires staring purely
When Winter's touch had warmed my heart
I was set free from mooring
And found myself trapped in unrest
In tides of loneliness and fury
Longing for a thousand starlit nights
A touch more than worth the waiting
In shallow seas my soul remains
Dragged along the shoals
Now we're miles from May
Daylight leaves us waylaid
Up and at 'em for the evening
Just to find this conversation
So ripe for the taking
Saving myself from those blind teeth
Around curves kept so divine
And passages worth seeking
Find my eyes at the end of the road
I've promises and torches to burn
The moon is just a sliver now
But I'm hoping for full circle
