If Tomorrow Never Comes

Winter and Fall can be hard. The weather is colder, the days shorter, the storms can dump inches or even feet of snow and the endless parade of commercialized holiday music and cheer can weigh heavily. It can be one of the loneliest and hardest times of year.

Sometimes it takes a lot of work to break even, to keep fighting the fight and to dig yourself out of the hole... but it's still worth it to see tomorrow.

Tomorrow Land

I keep waiting for it to get dark

My head above water

Over the trenches

Watching that sky stretch to infinity

But it never comes

The tinges and hues of that sunset are immortal

Burned into my mind

As every ember burns and every bullet flies

Casting out hunger and famine and war

I toil here treading the same sacred ground

Already hallowed, already haunted

I am the steam and not the machine

So what if the only way out is down

There's another side to this pop-sickle stand

And I'm tired of the belly of that snake

The scales of that dragon

So break the clouds

And set the sky on fire

It's up and atom so

Smoke em only if you got em

I thought I had you in my mind

A picture posted

A thing that transcends wars and oceans

Somewhere waiting

I'll find the night

In the stillness between

This goodbye kiss

And the war of tomorrow

Up and "Atom" (Up and at 'Em)
