Drowning in Hours
Maybe in the darkness
You can touch the textures
The stains on the uniforms unfolding
And without eyes see truer colors
See so-called heroes wait like fools
Drowning in hours
That none of them will now ever enjoy
What fucking cowards
Asleep beneath the bloodied girls and boys
See the vanishing façade
Shields off and masks shattered
Twisted and grotesque
Worthy of worse and yet still
Not yet afraid of our contempt
Praying that they may yet face the dead
An embarrassment of riches
That this life you lead still stretches
Filled with honor and celebrations
Undue authority
The undulations of boot-lickers
The shadow of midnight falls
Emblazoning these silhouettes against the wall
Like atomic ghosts torn asunder by bombs
No longer privileged to be haunting these halls
A reminder of just how pitiful all of you are
We cannot learn to lessen this pain
Cannot hallow, cannot consecrate
Until we learn the lessons which remain
Revoke the unearned worship we once gave
Melt down false idols, forsake the blade
It envelopes them now
Cold hard slab, thirsty ground
Earth below a home no longer
Blood swallowed up by violent hunger
Now is born a righteous thunder
Like hissing snakes with scales you hide
Badges built on bullshit lies
While you wait the fires rise
The innocent lay down their lives
Cut. Torn. Ripped. Killed. Brutalized.
Such obscene features
Vulgar creatures
Pigs would be a sentence light
Vile, sickos, lying, wicked,
Monstrously incompetent
Such obtuse failures
Fraudulent saviors
Boys in blue with flags of white
Useless, gutless, worthless pricks
Couldn't even make a damned attempt
Events illuminating a fundamental truth
A thin blue line of fascist fools
Tools of a system obsolete
Dead inside
Sickening
Children's graves littered with flowers
Futures never to be fulfilled
You have revealed your secret powers
Leaving destinies cut short in seconds
You really are all bastards in the end
Cowards
Drowning in hours
That you could have tried to save
Now in the light at last we see
True colors and a reckoning
No more sanctimony
Empty mantras
Undeserved respect
If you let them all just die like that
Who the fuck do you serve and protect?
